How to Schedule Your Appointment

Before you schedule, think about the following things:
1. Do you want Maya Abdominal Massage? Or, are you simply seeking a consultation?
2. How does Maya Abdominal Massage fit into your menstrual cycle, if you have one? Or, are you pregnant or have you recently given birth?
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
General Naturopathic visits for adults or children are scheduled at any time.
Are you wanting to receive a Maya Abdominal Massage? If so, there are some timing issues to consider before you call to make your appointment. Maya Abdominal Massage is not performed within 5 days of the menstrual bleeding time, or during active flow. This treatment would be of little benefit during these times. So, if you have regular 28-day menstrual cycles, plan your visit between days 5 and 23 of your cycle. If your cycle is more like 35 days, you can plan your appointment for anytime between days 5 and 30 of your menstrual cycle. If your period only lasts 3 days, you can plan your appointment for the 4th day of your cycle.
Fertility
**If you are planning to conceive during the cycle and would like to receive Maya
Abdominal Massage, plan to come to the clinic after your menstrual bleeding is finished, and up until the day of ovulation. This is usually between days 5 and 14 of the menstrual cycle.**
Pregnancy
If You are Pregnant, Congratulations! Plan your monthly visit from the beginning of the Second Trimester (13 wks or more) until 34 weeks, when the visit become more frequent (bi-weekly or weekly).
PostPartum
If you have given birth within the past 3 weeks, the doctor will do a house-call.
Digestion
If your visit is primarily for Digestive Health, you may schedule your appointment at any time. If you are not menstruating yet or anymore, you may schedule your appointment at any time. If you have been bleeding for too long, please schedule your appointment as soon as possible because Maya Abdominal Massage is very effective at stopping excessive blood loss. If you are not sure, call Dr. Sarah Wylie at 971-998-2196 to determine the best timing for treatment.
NB. If you need to reschedule your appointment because your menstrual cycle has shifted, you will not be penalized for a last minute change as long as you reschedule on the day you have called. Otherwise, a missed appointment is subject to a $45 fee. Many people are waiting to receive treatment, and a missed appointment represents a loss for the doctor, the staff and other patients. If you are late to your appointment, please expect to have a shorter visit.

The paperwork is lengthy and very important for the doctor. Please allow 15-25 minutes to complete. REALLY!! There is so much ground to cover in the first appointment; losing 15 minutes filling out paperwork is a tragedy! Kwan Yin Healing Arts reception can mail the paperwork to you by mail, or you can come to your first appointment 25 minutes early.
