- Doula Services include the application of Naturopathic Midwifery Philosophy, one that is fairly central in the spectrum of intervention. Interventions that are the least invasive are always applied first (eg. visualization, homeopathy, massage). This service is most valuable for women who desire natural childbirth in hospital. Creating a team attitude with the birth parents, doctor and nurses at the birth is high priority.

- During Childbrith – The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Massage™ – Usually unnecessary in childbirth. Sometimes progress in labour becomes obstructed. Maya Abdominal Massage and homeopathy is very effective with shifting this holding pattern. Some women elect to have me come to the birth as needed, without a commitment from me to be available. I will do my best to re-arrange my schedule (or get out of bed!). Others prefer to know I will certainly be available, and prioritize them over other patients. This means I do not go out of town from 3 weeks prior to your due date to 2 weeks past your due date, that I have on-call childcare coverage for my toddler during this time and that I reschedule my patients to attend you when needed.
-
- On-Call Status – $350 paid by 37 weeks
- Off-Call Status – $200 paid at birth, or within 2 weeks postpartum
- Billable to insurance
PostPartum Care
- Imagine a Chair with a hole in the seat, a pot of steaming herbs placed under the seat, with towels and blankets wrapped around you, the Mama. Sacred Maya Prayers are given for gratitude for the mother’s safe delivery and to heal any birthing trauma. The botanical-infused steam warms the birth passage and uterus, allowing any remaining contents of the womb to exit. This brings the process of closure of pregnancy for the womb and pelvic bowl, as the focus of care shifts towards the heart, breasts and baby. Traditional midwives in Central America perform this spiritually healing hydrotherapy treatment for their patients on the 3rd day postpartum. Expect brief Maya Abdominal Massage for your womb at this 2-hour visit. Questions regarding infant health and care will be addressed, as needed.
- Naturopathic House Calls – up to 3 weeks postpartum; for problems such as Low milk supply, hemorrhoids/fissures, acute infections, etc. $90 for each 45 minutes, plus $50 house call fee. Also, Billable to insurance.
